Ever since I was 16 years old I dreamed of visiting gorillas and it was my absolute highlight during our trip to Uganda! With some of the things you need to keep in mind if you ever want to visit these beautiful gorillas yourself
Things you need to keep in mind if you ever want to visit these beautiful gorillas yourself:
- 🦍 Book your permits well in advance.
- 🦍 Bring sunscreen, a rain jacket, long pants, water, a packed lunch, a camera and decent hiking shoes.
- 🦍 It’s hard to predict how long you will need to hike to see the gorillas. We were lucky and found them after 1,5 hours. But it can take upon to 6 hours as well!
- 🦍 The hike is steep and in the middle of the jungle.
- 🦍 You get to spend 1 hour with the gorillas in groups of max 8 persons.
- 🦍 Rangers and some locals will join you during the hike for protection.
