Travelling via Kigali to trek Mgahinga Gorillas is more appropriate and comfortable for visitors interested in trekking the only habituated gorilla family in Mgahinga without going through the long drives to the Park or better still those limited by time.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is one of Uganda’s wonderful gorilla trekking destinations, nestled within the south-west of the country and is approximately 9 hours’ drive from the Capital, seems like a whole lot of time on the road.
Trekkers can therefore opt to start the journey from Rwanda’s Kigali City/Airport, then drive about 3-4 hours with Cross-overs between the two countries happening at Cyanika border point.
