Detailed Safari Itinerary
DAY 01 :To Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
On Day One; after your breakfast, you drive to south-western region of the Pearl of Africa/Uganda. Have a stopover at the Equator to have a cup of tea/coffee and it’s also the only place where you will have an opportunity to stand in the 2 hemispheres at the same time an take some memorable pictures. Then Proceed to Mbarara for Lunch thereafter, the drive takes you through the Savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns. Then you ascend into the Kigezi highlands, known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, with terraced farming and mountain scenery to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and doubles as a National Park. Overnight at your lodge. preferably Trekkers Ruhija Lodge Meals. L/D
Day 2. Gorilla tracking in the Bwindi Impenetrable forest
A Morning cup of coffee or tea is recommended before your gorilla tracking Experience. You will then head to the briefing point at the park headquarters and from here you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while in the jungle forest with the gentle Giants. You will be provided with walking sticks and you’re also advised to have your lunch parked with enough drinking water. Staring into the pensive brown eyes of these gentle giants, who we share 95% of their genes with humans, is as humbling as it is thrilling. After you trekking, you will be transferred to kisolo in preparation for the next adventure on the plan which is the Golden Monkey tracking experience. Overnight at your lodge. Day 3. Golden Monkey tracking in Mgahinga National park Uganda
After your breakfast, you will drive to Mgahinga National Park for briefing and then go Golden monkey trekking, during this briefing exercise you will be advised on the dos and Don’ts when it comes to this interesting and interacting activity in the highlands of Kisolo. The golden monkey walk will expose you to other attractions in the park these include Buffaloes, duikers, bushbucks and also getting a view of the Sabinyo and Vurunga Mountains before returning back to your hotel for overnight. This activity takes between 3-6 hours and its highly recommended to be fit enough for the activity. Thereafter , you will be transferred to lake Bunyonyi for an evening Boat cruise on this beautiful lake Bunyonyi that consist of 29 small islands with different historical backgrounds, though this will all depend on the time of arrival at your hotel after the Golden monkey experience. Day 04: To Kampala or Entebbe/Kigali Rwanda International Airport
After your early breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda on this day using the same route enabling you to have a second stop over at the Equator if on the first day missed out on taking very good pictures and also buying some souvenirs . Or transfer you to Kigali depending on flight schedules. Accommodation: No accommodation.
