The 3 Days Virunga Mountain Gorilla Safari trekking in Virunga national park particularly take you to the Virunga massif, a series of eight chained volcanoes shared by three countries of Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Virunga national park is Africa’s oldest national park and one of the prime homes of the world’s remaining endangered mountain gorillas, furnishing extremely amazing gorilla trekking experiences.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Goma
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali and Departure

Day 1: Transfer to Virunga national park

On arrival at the airport, be picked by our experienced driver guide. He will briefly take you through the whole itinerary and then start your best three days in Africa. The journey to Goma roughly takes four hours of driving through the rolling hills of Rwanda to reach Gisenyi the border town between Rwanda and Congo for a refreshment stopover, lunch and interaction with the local people. From here proceed to Goma for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

Having had an early breakfast, drive to the headquarters of Virunga national park for gorilla trekking briefing. The local ranger will take you through the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking to ensure a peaceful and exciting experience while in the wild. Be divided into groups of 8 trekkers to visit a gorilla family per day.

Now enter into forest to hunt for the allocated gorilla family, walking through slippery and unclear trails and to sounds of countless birds. On meeting these mighty apes, spend strictly one hour with them, watching them, asking questions and taking as many photographs as possible. Note that the cameras shouldn’t be with flash lights.

When the one hour elapses, slope back to the starting point and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
