The 2 Days Gorilla Trekking Adventure in Congo starts and ends in Kigali. These are the briefest days you can ever have in these two beautiful countries yet still expose you to the mighty and impressive apes of Virunga national park in Congo.

Virunga national park is Africa’s oldest national park harboring almost three quarters of the world’s total population of mountain gorillas. It is located in the Virunga chained volcanoes shred with Rwanda and Uganda. It is simply a park worth visiting.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Goma

On arrival at Kigali airport, be picked by our experienced and knowledgeable driver guide. He will brief you about the whole trip, and then transfer you to Goma. You will drive through Kigali town visiting various destinations like the Kigali genocide memorial site, the national museum, craft markets and many others.

Then you will drive to Goma, straight to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight. Here you will also prepare for the next gorilla trekking day.

Day 2: Virunga Gorillas and transfer back to Kigali airport

In the morning, have a very early breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for a simple briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking in Virunga national park.

From here hit the jungle in search for the endangered gorillas. Walk through the forest slippery trails that are unclearly paved, having to trace out your way with your arm or handstick but all furnishing thrilling experiences that are unforgettable.

On encountering the gorillas, spend one magical hour with them, watching them play with each other, jumping from one tree branch to the other and feeding. Take as many pictures as you want provided the camera you are using doesn’t have a flash.

From here descend back to the park offices, drive back to Goma for lunch and then be transferred directly to Kigali airport for the flight home.
